If you permit your child or anyone who is a minor and without a valid driving licence to drive your vehicle, be prepared to spend three months in jail and/or pay a fine of Rs1,000. In an effort to curb minors from driving vehicles and indulge in drunken driving, the Mumbai Traffic police have decided to prosecute the owner of the vehicle under section 180 of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988.
