The success of the DLF initial public offer might give more confidence to realty companies.
"This is just the beginning. Realty companies will raise a minimum of Rs 100,000 crore from the primary market in the next five years," said Prithvi Haldea of PrimeDatabase, a firm specialising in primary markets.

Delhi-based DLF Ltd has priced its initial public offer at Rs 525 a share, a discount of 4.5 per cent to the higher end of the price band of Rs 500-550. At the issue price, the offering size is Rs 9,187.5 crore. The shares are likely to be listed in the first week of July. The issue, which closed on Thursday, was subscribed 3.47 times due to prolific bidding by 300 foreign institutional investors

Real estate firm DLF Ltd. priced its IPO in the middle of the indicative price range due to muted retail interest, bankers said on Friday, valuing the country's largest developer at nearly $22 billion.The company had set a band of 500-550 rupees a share after discussions with bankers.

The retail participation in the bidding process of the realty major DLF's 100% book-built initial public offering (IPO) was not up to the market expectations. However, the overall public issue has been subscribed by 3.45 times. Around 60% of the issue has been reserved for the qualified institutional buyers (QIBs), which has been over-subscribed 3.9 times.
