The city of Agra was tense following an accident wherein four youths taking part in a religious festival were crushed beneath a speeding truck. The event sparked a strong reaction from locals who went on a rampage, setting 20 trucks on fire and clashing with police. The police imposed curfew in certain areas.

Pakistan: Curfew imposed around Lal Masjid

A curfew has been imposed around the Lal Masjid area in Pakistan early on Wednesday by the Pakistan government. So far 12 people have been killed and over 150 injured in gun battles between militant madrassa students and security forces. The government has urged the militant student and clerics of the mosque to surrender.
