Australian leg-spinner Stuart MacGill is all set to undergo a knee surgery, which will make him unavailable for the home series against India starting next month.
MacGill, a veteran of 42 Tests, consented to have the surgery in a last ditch attempt to prolong his playing career and regain full fitness for a gruelling year ahead, which includes tours of Pakistan, India and the West Indies.

A phenomenal security ring has been clamped in and around Kolkata after an e-mail threatened to trigger a blast during the India-Pakistan Test match commencing at the Eden Gardens from November 30.
The Eden Gardens itself looks like a veritable fortress with more than 60 police officials combing the venue on Monday night and taking guard at all the gates.

Kirsten met the Coach Selection committee comprising of Sunil Gavaskar, Ravi Shastri and also BCCI secretary Niranjan Shah in New Delhi on Monday evening. Former Australian coach John Buchanan is also said to be in the reckoning, although Kirsten has emerged as the clear front-runner.
A decision is expected to be announced after the BCCI office-bearers meeting in Kolkata on the 1st of December.

India eves skipper Mithali Raj said that the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) taking Women's cricket under its wing was the best thing that happened to it.
Mithali however, added that the BCCI ought to narrow the difference between men and women. She maintained that skill wise women cricketers were at par with their male counterparts.
