The manager of the Indian cricket team for the tour to England, Chandu Borde expressed his surprise on hearing the Indian skipper's decision to step down from the captaincy of the national side. In an interview, the former player expresssed his surprise at Dravid's decision maintaining that the former skipper had not provided any hints about his impending decision during the tour of England.

THE BCCI has become the laughing stock as all its so called "tough measures" to professionalize the Cricketing Administration have boomeranged. The refusal of Graham Ford to coach "Team India" was such an embarrassing slap that the Board lost all reasoning and selected 73 year old former test player and manager, Chandu Borde as the manager for Ireland and England Tour.
