CHENNAI: Nirmala Shankar got married on November 30. She had everything on her — the make-up, wedding sari, jewels and flower garlands — just like a perfect bride. But she also had a piece of a bullet stuck to the frontal lobe on the right side of her brain. It had hit her head when the terrorists opened fire at the Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus on November 26, as she was waiting to catch a train t

Chennai: Bad weather could disrupt the first Test between India and England, which is scheduled to start on Thursday.
Persistent rain since early today morning has drenched the outfield at the Chidambaram Stadium, denying the Indian team a full practice drill in the morning session.

Something interesting is cooking in the kitchens of star hotels in Chennai. Chefs are hanging up their food-stained aprons to don well cut suits -- an attire which they once shunned with disdain.
Executive chefs at several hotels, including the Radisson, Courtyard Marriott and The Park, have sought to dispel the old saying among those at the helm inside kitchens -- once a chef always a chef!

BCCI Vice-President Lalit Modi on Tuesday said the first Test between England and India would be held as per the schedule and Mahendra Singh Dhoni will lead the team as it was not a "rational" proposition to postpone the match in view of the Champions League final.

GURGAON: Royal Bengal Tigers have been in terrific form, a 10-wicket defeat at the hands of Ahmedabad Rockets an aberration amid a fine run.
That loss last week would have probably rankled had they not carved out a masterful eight-wicket victory over Dhaka Warriors in their last match.
