The role of the Indian government in the Quattrocchi case is in question. It has been learnt that the Indian government is hesitating to file an appeal in the Bofors case. The extradition of Quattrocchi failed because the CBI had got a very weak warrant against him.

Although an Argentine court had dismissed India's claim to extradite the Italian businessman to face trial in India for his alleged role in the $7.34 million Bofors Case, a former director of The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) feels otherwise. According to the former director, the CBI still has a "very strong case" in the Supreme Court there.
