After senior BJP leader proposed former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee's name for Bharat Ratna, the CPI(M) today said party partiarch Jyoti Basu can be given the honour if he fulfills the parameters.
Asked whether Basu should be awarded the Bharat Ratna, CPI(M) politburo member Biman Bose told reporters here that "I don't know whether Basu fulfils the parameters

Noted writer and film maker Nabendu Ghosh died on Saturday morning at CMRI Hospital in Kolkata. He was 91. Ghosh novel 'Dak Diye Jai' on 1942 quit India movement cost him his government job in 1943 which made him famous as writer. His success with cinema began when he join Bimal Roy in 1951 as a script writer. He scripted for nearly fifty movies with eminent directors like Guru Dutt, Satyen Bos
