Col Kirori Singh Bainsla, who led the Gujjar agitation in Rajasthan last week, has gone underground following the registeration of murder cases against him and senior agitation leaders.
In fact, most of the Gujjars against whom cases have been registered have fled the state to escape arrest.

The Supreme Court observation comes a day after a bandh called by the Gujjars in the capital. Protestors blocked all roads leading from Delhi to its suburbs of Gurgaon, Faridabad, Ghaziabad and Noida.The national capital remained cut off for several hours in the morning and estimates suggest that the city suffered huge financial losses due the bandh.

After week-long caste clashes, normalcy returned to Rajasthan today with traffic resuming on the Jaipur-Agra highway. Vehicular traffic was restored on National Highway 11 after members of Gurjar and Meena communities removed the road blockades early this morning, exactly a day after the Gurjars called off their agitation following an agreement with the government.

Rajasthan's violent clashes over ST reservation for the Gujjar community spilled over into the national capital region on Monday. The bandh, called by the Gujjar community in support of the demand for inclusion of Gujjars in the Schedule Tribe list, turned violent at many places, blocking flow of traffic into Delhi from Gurgaon and Noida.
