Kingfisher Airlines has signed a MOU with Airbus at the 47th International Paris Air Show at Le Bourget to purchase 50 aircraft worth $7 billion (5.2 billion euros) at catalogue prices. Upon signing this, Kingfisher Airlines along with Deccan Aviation now has a commitment for a total of 176 Airbus aircraft, including five A380 superjumbos.

Big boys queue up to bid for India's new airports

With the civil aviation ministry identifying 35 airports for modernisation and nine sites for setting up new airports, numerous companies such as the Essar Group, Punj Lloyd,Larsen & Toubro, real estate developer Atlanta, Hyderabad-based Nagarjuna Construction and Delhi-based DS Constructions are queing up to bid for these projects.

Barely two months after the Air Sahara acquisition, Jet Airways, the country’s largest private airline, is interested in SpiceJet, the Delhi-based budget carrier. Investment bankers of both the companies are expected to meet next week to discuss the issue.
