According to his lawyer, Mohammed Haneef, who was detained by the Australian authorities in connection with the failed UK bomb plot is being treated unfairly. Haneef, who was arrested as he tried to leave Brisbane on a one-way ticket to India, is being investigated for alleged terrorist links.

The Indian angle to the failed bombings in the UK recieved a further shot in the arm when the Bangalore police confirmed that Kafeel Ahmed's mother, Dr Zakia Ahmed, has identified her son as the Glasgow bomber. Kafeel's mother and sister who were interrogated by the police on Friday confirmed that the person in the video resembled Kafeel.

A four-year old girl, Upasana, from a village in UP is drawing a lot of attention by claiming that she is the reincarnation of the astronaut, Kalpana Chawla,who died when US space shuttle Columbia crashed four years ago. Upasana was born barely two months after the astronaut's death in 2003.

Indian medicos face racist treatment in Australia

Patients at the Gold Coast Hospital in Australia have refused to be treated by Indian medical staff after two Indian doctors employed there were questioned in connection with the UK’s failed terror plots. One of the arrested doctors, Mohammed Asif Ali, was released by the police without any charges after questioning. However, the second doctor, Mohamed Haneef, is still inder custody.

Two children clocked a perfect seven on Saturday when they were born on 07-07-07 at 7.07 am in two private hospitals in the city of Indore. One of the children, a boy, came into this world through a normal delivery, while the other one, the baby girl was born after a caesarean operation which was planned in such a manner that it clocked a perfect seven.

Former PM Chandra Shekhar no more

The former Indian Prime Minister, Chandra Shekhar died in New Delhi on Sunday after a prolonged illness. He was 80. Chandra Shekhar, who was suffering from multiple myloma, passed away at the Apollo Hospital in New Delhi where he was admitted since the last three months.
