Haneef Mohammed has launched a legal attack against the Australian government to have his work visa revoked, with his lawyers stating that the decision to cancel the visa was 'legally flawed'. Vital documents in Salman poaching case missing

The poaching case in which actor Salman Khan is involved has made no progress as some important documents have mysteriously disappeared. The CID which is investigating the poaching case, requested the forest department to provide it with documents related to the case but the latter claims that the vital documents are missing.

Vadodara villages asked to evacuate : Gujarat

The authorities have evacuated many villages in Gujarat's Vadodara district after 5.5 lakh cusecs of water from the Kadana dam and 1.5 lakh cusecs of water from Panam dam were released into the Mahisager river. The release of water resulted in the rise in the level downstream thus threatening to submerge many villages.

A sadhvi who alleged that she was raped by the Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh has provided graphic details of the traumatic experience she had undergone and also described how the inner chamber (gufa) of the Dera chief looks like. The CBI, which is probing the case, asked the sadhvi to draw a sketch of the gufa and later matched it with statements of two other women victims.

Monica Bedi, the former starlet and companion of underworld don Abu Salem, has been asked to appear before the Bhopal Sessions Court on September 3, following the prosecution's review appeal. Bedi was acquitted of all charges in the fake passport case by the Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) Ajay Shrivastava on July 16.

Bihar floods situation improving, death toll 113

The state of Bihar finally managed to receive some respite from the floods, as the water level of most rivers was reducing. However the death toll due to the floods has risen to to 113 and nearly 45 lakh people are still reeling under the impact of the deluge.

INSAT-4CR to be launched soon

According to sources, the INSAT-4CR communication satellite will most likely be launched from the Indian space agency's Sriharikota spaceport between August 31 and September 8, 2007. The INSAT-4CR is similar to the INSAT-4C, which was unsuccessfully launched along with the Geo-synchronous Satellite Launch Vehicle in July 2007.
