Mumbai: The rupee fell towards a six-year low early on Wednesday as a sharp fall in Asian stocks intensified concerns about accelerated foreign fund withdrawals.
At 9:03 a.m., the partially convertible rupee was at 48.28 per dollar, its lowest since Dec. 2, 2002. On Tuesday, it closed at 47.915/93.
