Taxis go on flash strike after attack on union office

Mumbai: Over 55,000 taxis in the city have gone on a flash strike after 10 to 15 men attacked the taxi union office at Navjivan Society, Mumbai Central shortly before noon. Chandrasekhar Nair assistant secretary of the Taxi union, claimed that the miscreants belonged to the MNS. They broke computers, snapped phone lines and damaged the instruments.

Alert in Goa over possible terror attack

Panaji: An alert has been sounded in Goa and the police have intensified checking to track possible terror plots in the tourist hot spot, Chief Minister Digamber Kamat said today. The move follows the arrest of a suspected militant in Karnataka who had allegedly confessed about his plans to strike in Karnataka and Goa.
