Hutch crosses 50 lakh subscribers in Gujarat

The leading mobile service provider in Gujarat, Hutch made an announcement that it has crossed the 50 lakh subscribers in the circle and has maintained its position of being the largest operator in the circle. The company is also planning to invest over Rs 1,000 crore in the state through initiatives during the present fiscal.

At least 21 dead, hundreds missing : Hurricane Felix

Brigadier General John A Toolan, Jr. of the US Marine Corps has said that India is the "base of stability" in South Asia. The Principal Director for South and Southeast Asia at the Department of Defense also added that "the United States does not want to get involved in any muddling in India's region."

Attarwala to aide probe in underworld-Bollywood nexus

The officials of the Crime Branch have informed that Iqbal Attarwala who has been extradited from Dubai, will help in investigating the underworld-Bollywood nexus. Attarwala, who is an alleged associate of fugitive underworld don Dawood Ibrahim, arrived in Mumbai on Thursday after being deported by authorities in Dubai.

Musharraf to hold office till Nov 15

Following a report in Loksatta, a Marathi daily, stating that Indian batting maestro, Sachin Tendulkar was "set to retire from one-day cricket at Lord's” on Saturday, there was a spate of rumours doing the rounds. The Indian skipper however dismissed the reports as “completely false” and even sources close to Tendulkar disagreed with the reports.

Prime witness in Nithari killings dead

Alister Pereira sentenced to 3 years
