Counting of votes for the elections to the 40-member Goa Assembly is underway amidst tight security.According to initial trends, the Congress is leading in 12 seats followed by the BJP with four seats while Others are ahead in two seats. Former Goa chief minister Manohar Parrikar has won the Panaji Assembly seat by defeating Congress candidate Dinar Tarcar by 1,444 votes.
