6 Canadian soldiers killed in blasts in Afghanistan

A roadside bomb blast which took place in Kandahar province in Afghanistan, killed six Canadian soldiers and their Afghan interpreter. This was the deadliest attack against foreign troops in Afghanistan since May 13, when seven troops were killed.

Lal Masjid cleric tries to escape wearing a burqa, apprehended

Maulana Abdul Aziz, one of the two radical clerics of the Lal Masjid was arrested by Pakistan military personnel, when he tried to escape wearing a burqa. Aziz and his younger brother, Abdul Rashid Ghazi, were leading the violent protests by the students of he madrassas affiliated to the Lal Masjid.

UK Terror Plot: Indian doc granted consular access

The Indian doctor, Mohammed Haneef, who was detained in Australia in connection with the UK terror plot has been granted consular access. The Deputy High commissioner Vinod Kumara siad that a consul from the Indian High Commission has met Haneef, who had earlier contacted the consul in order to contact his wife in India.

25 killed in karaoke parlour blast in China: report
