Kidnapped journalist Alan Johnston Freed in Gaza

Alan Johnston, the British Broadcasting Corp. (BBC) journalist who was kidnapped by Islamic militants in the Gaza Strip for about four months, was freed today after Palestinian faction Hamas negotiated his release. "It's indescribably good to be out" Johnston told BBC Television by telephone from the home of former Hamas Prime Minister Ismael Hania in Gaza City.

Oz police question Indian medico over UK bomb plot

The Australian police detained Mohammed Haneef, 27, a registrar at a hospital in Australia's Queensland state in connection with a terrorist bomb plot in the U.K. The police have been given a further 48 hours to question the Indian doctor for his role in the June 30 attack on Glasgow airport and attempted car bombings in London a day earlier.

RBI to checkmate menace of unsolicited calls

The Indian doctor,Mohammad Haneef, who was detained by the Australian authoriities for questioning, had bought a SIM card for a mobile phone, which was recovered from a Jordanian national, who has been projected as the mastermind of the terrorist incidents in London and Glasgow. Hence it does not imply that Haneef was consciously involved in the terorrist incidents.
