United States Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice on Monday spoke to External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee over telephone about the bilateral nuclear deal.
During the conversation, Rice conveyed to Mukherjee that the US was keen on moving ahead with the civilian nuclear deal, informed State Department spokesman Sean McCormack.

A bomb exploded near the official residence of Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf in Rawalpindi on Tuesday, killing at least two people and leaving several injured.
The explosion occurred in a wagon near Ayub Park as Musharraf was chairing a meeting of the chief ministers and governors at Army House in the high-security area of the garrison city.

Belying expectations of any relief on interest rate front, Reserve Bank on Tuesday hiked the statutory deposits - CRR - by 0.5 per cent to 7.5 per cent despite inflation falling to a five-year low.
Cash Reserve Ratio is the ratio of interest-free cash reserves mandatorily kept by the banks with the RBI, which had it been unchanged could have provided banks an option to ease the lending rates.

At least 18 people were killed in flash floods and heavy rain that lashed four south coastal districts of Andhra Pradesh during the last five days, official sources said on Tuesday.
Hundreds of tanks either collapsed or suffered extensive damage while road and rail networks were damaged as widespread rain disrupted normal life in Nellore, Prakasam, Kadapah and Chittoor, they said.
