The UB group chief and liquor-baron, Vijay Mallya has joined hands with the Spyker director of Formula One, Michiel Mol, to make a $109-million bid for the Spyker Formula One team. The team is currently facing a financial crisis. The bid for the Silverstone-based team will be through Mallya’s company Watson Limited and Strongwind, owned by the Mol family.

Govt debates cess on IIT, IIM students

The government is toying with the idea of imposing a tax on students who receive subsidized education at institutes like IIT's and IIM's and then go on to earn substantial sums by working for multinationals abroad, while the Indian exchequer gets very little for its investment.
