'Govt desecrated temple by taking away sacred bull' : Temple authorities

The authorities of the Skanda Vale Temple have expressed their anger at the authorities for forcibly taking away their sacred bull Shambo to be slaughtered. They termed the act of the Welsh Assembly government as the "most violent and ignorant act of desecration" of the temple. The move of the government came after the community finally lost their High Court fight on Monday.

'Rapist can be convicted without medical proof' : SC

The Supreme Court has held that a rapist cannot claim innocence merely because the medical report did not disclose any physical injuries on the victims. The signigicant ruling of the Apex court states that in the absence of any corroboration of medical evidence, the oral testimony of the victim if found to be cogent and reliable, is sufficient to convict the accused.

Hasina Patel, the widow of Mohammed Sidique Khan, the leader of the 2005 London subway bombings said she was ashamed of her husband, and could understand if some people never forgave him. Hasina, in an interview said that she had no idea as to why her husband participated in the suicide bomb attack on board a London subway train, killing himself and six other.

India's first woman IPS officer, Kiran Bedi, who expressed her displeasure at being sidelined for the job of the Delhi police chief, complained that there was a gender bias in appointments to top posts.
