Court accuses Kohli of delaying extradition process

The petition filed by accused Maninder Pal Singh Kohli, challenging his extradition to the United Kingdom in connection with the Hannah Foster case, was reserved by the Delhi High Court. The court accused Kohli of delaying the extradition process and also refused to to accept Kohli's contention that he would not get fair trial in Britain as there is bias against Asian community.

The UK police are unlikely to seek the extradition of Indian doctor, Haneef Mohammed who is currently under custody in Australia. The Australian Broadcasting Corporation has said that currently there is no request for the extradition of Haneef, who is charged in connection with last month's failed car bombings in the UK.

The Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force, arrested four sharp shooters of the Ejaz Lakdawala gang who were on a mission to "eliminate" singer Himesh Reshammiya and producer-director Raj Kumar Santoshi. According to the police, the sharpshooters were in UP to procure the weapons, to be used in the attack on Reshammiya and Santoshi.

Bihar doctor leaves towel in abdomen

A young woman, Phool Dai Devi, had to undergo a surgery 16 days after she delivered a baby through a cesarean section operation, as the doctor had left a surgical towel in her abdomen. The woman experienced extreme abdominal pain following the delivery, however tests were unable to diagnose the cause. A doctor at another hospital performed the emergency operation and found the towel in her abdome

India plans space missions in coming 5 years

India plans to double the number of launches into space over the next five years by launcing up to 25 spacecrafts in order to take advantage of the booming demand for capacity. According to ISRO officials the cost for building and launching the satellites will be in the region of Rs 8,000 crore to Rs 9,000 crore.

Aussie officer investigating Haneef case dead

One of the police officials investigating the Haneef Mohammed case "dropped dead" at work amidst tremendous pressure. The Australian Federal Police Commissioner Mick Keelty said that the official died of natural causes last week amid intense pressure on the AFP.
