Bollywood starlet, Monica Bedi has secured bail in the fake passport case and has been released from a Hyderabad jail on Wednesday. Although she was granted bail on Tuesday, she was released only on Wednesday as the bail order could not reach the jail authorities in time.

According to information received from sources in the Hyderabad police, V Satyanaryana, the General Manager of Satyam Computers, who was kidnapped on Tuesday has been 'rescued' from Warangal district. The sources have added that at least four people have been arrested in connection to the kidnapping.

The proposed merger between Indian (Airlines) and Air India, which was due to take place in August, has hit a standstill as the major IA unions are opposing it on the grounds that the government has been unable to resolve key issues, such as lack of parity in career progression and salary with AI employees and arrears of over Rs 800 crore (Rs 8 billion) from 1997.

Although 70 percent of Palestinians believe suicide attacks are justified, support for terrorism in the Muslim world is falling by the day. These are the findings of a survey called 'Global Attitudes' which was released by the Pew Research Centre in the US. The survey also highlighted that the US image in Muslim-majority countries remains abysmal.

Air Force General, Victor Renuart, who heads US Northern Command, has claimed that he believes that the Al Qaeda cells are active in the United States and that the US military needs to triple its response teams to counter the growing threat of attack. "I believe there are cells in the United States, or at least people who aspire to create cells in the United States": Renuart said in an interview.

An army jawan, Mohan Munda shot dead an officer, Major P Alexander at a forward post in Gurez sector of Baramulla district in Jammu and Kashmir.
This is yet another instance of fratricide killing, taking place in the national army. The reason for the killing is yet to be known.

Air-India building bomber to be sentenced

Farooq Pawale, who is convicted of planting explosives at the Air India Building and Lucky petrol pump near Sena Bhavan at Dadar will be sentenced on Wednesday by the designated TADA court in the 93 Mumbai serial blasts case. Pawale, is held guilty on all 23 charges framed against him, including causing the death of 24 people in the two blasts.
