Dutt released from Yerwada, back in Mumbai

Sanjay Dutt, has arrived in Mumbai, after being released from the Yerwada jail in Pune. He was released on interim bail by the Supreme Court and was accompanied by his lawyer Satish Maneshinde and fellow convict Yusuf Nulwalla.

An Internet auction for charity held just days before the 10th anniversary of the death of Princess Diana failed to attract bids for a pale-blue dress worn by her at the 1987 Cannes Film Festival. The silk chiffon evening gown was among 79 dresses that Diana auctioned off for charity at Christie's in New York in June 1997.

Mexico hit by hurricane Dean again

The eastern state of Veracruz in Mexico was hit for a second time in two days by Hurricane Dean on Thursday. The hurricane then weakened into a tropical storm that still threatened to trigger dangerous floods and mudslides. One person was killed when he was electrocuted by a cable that came in contact with the roof which he was repairing while the storm was raging.

Bihar flood death toll crosses 400 mark

Although the overall flood situation in Bihar has shown signs of improvement, 56 more deaths were reported from flood-hit areas on Wednesday, taking the total death toll to 408. According to the water resources department the new deaths were reported from Muzaffarpur, Sitamarhi, Darbhanga and West Champaran districts.

Minister threatens rail blockade : Tamil Nadu

The Tamil Nadu Agriculture Minister Veerapandi S Arumugam said that all trains coming from or going towards Kerala at the Salem junction would be blocked from Saturday to protest against the delay in the creation of a new railway division based in Salem. If the railway blockade is carried out, passengers from Kerala travelling to north India will be affected.
