Nepal: Hindu group form al Qaeda-type suicide squads

A band of former soldiers, ex-police personnel and victims of Maoist guerrillas have united in Nepal to form a Hindu army with suicide bombers to fight Islamic and Christian zealots as well as communists. Like the al Qaeda, they are training suicide squads, claims the ex-cop, who runs the group.

Around 20 suspected militants were killed and several wounded on Tuesday, in a blast at a training camp in a volatile Pakistani tribal area bordering Afghanistan, officials said.However there were conflicting accounts about the cause of the blast, residents said three missiles were fired from across the frontier while officials said the insurgents were killed by their own bombs.

Protesting against Britain's decision to knight Salman Rushdie, an Iranian group on Tuesday, announced an 80,000 pound bounty on his head prompting the authorities to review the security of the controversial India-born author.
