In line with global cues, the Indian stock market opened sharply higher on Monday with the National Stock Exchange's Nifty rising 126 points or 3.06% to 4233.65. While the Bombay Stock Exchange's Sensex was up 450 points or 3.18% at 14,591.48.

The police have arrestyed a self-styled area commander of Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) in Udhampur district of Jammu. Abu Bakar, the militant in question was trying to flee from the place where he had called a meeting of militants, but was nabbed by the police. The police recovered One AK-47 rifle and four grenades from him.

The Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe leads his biggest corporate mission to India on Tuesday. Abe travels to New Delhi with 243 executives from companies including Toyota Motor Corp. and Canon Inc. The use of the Radio Frequency Identification Chip is a new initiative being undertaken by the University of Hyderabad to check the malpractise of students providing fake certificates. The tiny chip will contain the students’ marksheet and other information and will be charged between 300 rupees and 500 rupees.
