USS Nimitz docks near Chennai amidst opposition

The American aircraft carrier, USS Nimitz, has docked near Chennai on Monday morning. The docking of the Nimitz-which is nuclear-powered-was opposed by environmental groups, Left parties, AIADMK and MDMK on account of fears of radiation.

The Al-Qaeda is planning a 'terror spactacular' this summer, according to a secret report by the US law enforcement prepared for the Department of Homeland Security. "This is reminiscent of the warnings and intelligence we were getting in the summer of 2001" the ABC television said quoting a senior official.
