MUMBAI: Equities zoomed at the open on Wednesday extending a rally in stocks overseas after the US Federal Reserve cut interest rates by 75 basis points in an effort to provide more liquidity to crumbling financial markets. At 10:05 am, the Bombay Stock Exchange’s Sensex was up 538 points or 3.63 per cent at 15,371.32.

Around 1.50pm, Shwetabh Nagar, 21, killed himself by jumping from the fifth floor of the multilevel parking lot at Nehru Place. Son of a brigadier, Shwetabh was pursuing a degree in mass communications from Asian School of Media Studies at Noida. He was dyslexic.
