Australian police frame charges against suspected LTTE rebels

The Australian Federal Police (AFP) have laid fresh charges against two terrorism suspects who are accused of being members of the LTTE. Aruran Vinayagamoorthy, 32, is facing two counts of directly or indirectly making assets available to the Tamil Tigers, according to sources. While Sivarajah Yathavan, 36, has also been charged of the same offence.

Mumbai has the highest number of citizens living in slums, as per the figures available from the 2001 census.The Minister of Housing and Urban Poverty Alleviation, Kumari Selja said that in Mumbai over 64 lakh people were living in slums followed by Delhi (18.51 lakh) and Kolkata (14.85 lakh).

'93 Mumbai Blasts: TADA judge to sentence first five convicts

The special TADA court in Mumbai would begin to pronounce sentences in the 1993 Mumbai serial bomb blasts case from Friday. TADA judge Pramod Kode has not given any hints as to how he would go about pronouncing the sentences of 100 convicts, but Special Public Prosecutor, Ujjwal Nikam said that he was expecting that the judge would start with five persons convicted under Customs Act.
