Anand Jon accused of 6 more rapes

An Indian-born celebrity fashion designer already accused of raping or sexually assaulting 12 women and girls who came to him as aspiring models was charged on Tuesday with attacks on six additional victims. Anand Jon has now been charged with a total of 46 counts involving 18 victims, all with ties to the fashion industry and between the ages of 14 and 27.

Human trafficking: 'India has to be more responsive'

Minor fire in Parliament

A minor fire broke out in Parliament House in New Delhi on Wednesday morning, fire brigade officials said. The blaze was reported at 8:25 am in the basement of the Parliament House and immediately four fire engines were rushed to the spot,however thefire was doused before the fire engines reached.

The summer's death toll in the high-security Tihar jail in West Delhi reached five after one more inmate died on Tuesday, sending worried jail authorities scrambling for an explanation.
Jail authorities said that all the deaths have been due to natural causes and are mostly the result of the intense summer heat sweeping the capital.
