Politicians' involvement ruled out: Fake Encounter Case

According to a senior CID official, the Gujarat CID, which is probing the fake encounter killing of Sohrabuddin Sheikh in which over a dozen policemen including IPS officers have been arrested, has not found any political involvement in the fake murders that have taken place. The CID has not been able to find the motive either in the killing of Sheikh, an alleged extortionist.

Coimbatore blasts verdict on Aug 1

The verdict in the 1998 Coimbatore serial blasts case - which coincided with the visit of BJP leader L K Advani for election campaign, claimed 52 lives besides loss of property worth over Rs 100 crore- will be pronounced on August 1. A total of 166 persons have been arrested and are behind bars in connection with the case.

Police keeping close tabs on terror groups : Karnataka

The involvement of Kafeel Ahmed in the UK bombings as well as reports of his proximity to terror outfits has resulted in the Karnataka police keeping a close watch on 'any activites' that could cause a law and order situation in the state. The Director General of Police, K R Srinivasan said that the police are monitoring the activities of suspect groups.

Manmohan looks into Mumbai blasts probe

Indian university to have it's own satelllite

New twist to Katara case, witness claims Yadav was in Karnal

UFO's spotted at cricket match: UK

The semi-final cricket match of the Bradford junior league was temporarily interupted by UFO sightings. The town of Keighley, wherein the match was held, has a reputation for being the 'hot-spot' for alien activity, with numerous UFO sightings reported over the last 30 years. As per eyewitness accounts, the UFOs - two dark circular objects - were spotted for about 20 minutes in the sky.

UK Terror Plot: Bilal's Bangalore links being probed

The security forces in the UK are trying to determine whether Bilal Abdulla, the Iraqi doctor who is a suspect in the failed bombing of Glasgow airport, had ever visited India, especially Bangalore. Also the forces are probing the link between Abdulla and Kafeel Ahmed, who is suspected to have made an attempt to ram a flaming jeep into Glasgow airport.
